Just a Swingin'

When Wyatt turned 3 we bought a swingset for him. Last year, we literally had to bury that swingset. It was rotting, and it had become a hazard to our kids and our friends' kids!

I wanted to get the boys a new swingset for Christmas, but I was worried that Reid might be too little for the climbing aspect of the playset. So, we waited a few more months.

We found one that we liked, and I finally ordered it in early March. I knew that Lance was going to HATE putting it together, but that was the only option. They charge $600 to assemble it! (I don't think so!!!!)

Luckily, Lance had some rainy days that he couldn't work. Right after that he has been BUSIER than he has been for a very long time! So, it all worked out perfectly. Wyatt was out of school Monday and Tuesday of the week that Lance was working on the set. So, Lance, Wyatt and Reid literally spent HOURS outside those three days.

Reid "helped" Lance with his play screwdriver, drill and hammer! He had a great time, and it was so sweet for me to watch the father and sons bonding outside!

The swingset has been completed and was a HIT at Reid's party. I am thankful for my parents and Lance's mom who helped us to purchase such a nice set. I know that it will be played on for many years to come.

Reid's Birthday Party

I am so behind on posts. I have about three that I want to do. So, here's a short one for now. (My friend is frustrated with my lack of posting, so this one is for her!) I was trying to get a picture of Reid's shirt in the picture above. Reid looks mad because he wanted to get in the trampoline, and I was telling him to say cheese! The theme of his party was "heavy equipment", so when I saw this shirt on sheshemade.com, I knew that it had to be HIS:)

Reid's birthday was last Wednesday. I still can't believe that boy is 2!!!! We had his party on Saturday, and it was a gorgeous day! The weather was warm, but it was windy and not a cloud in the sky.

We had a lot of friends from church and from our "hometown" group of friends. There were kids everywhere...even a set of quadruplets;)

Everyone seemed to have a great time...especially the birthday boy! He received so many sweet presents! He loves to say "mine" now, so that was his favorite thing to say about all of his presents.

My friend Michelle made his cake. I bought the cupcakes, but she put everything together, and the whole idea was hers! How precious did it come out?

Wyatt had several older boys from church in attendance. They were all mesmerized by the cake! They helped Reid blow out the candles!

I didn't get a family picture even though I asked two people to remind me! I did get one of Reid and me though. The party was so much fun! I think Reid enjoyed being the center of attention!

Reid is Turning 2!

I just ordered Reid's birthday invitations! I cannot believe this baby is turning 2! Watching my baby turn into a little boy is both happy and sad all at the same time!!! Mostly it is just unbelievable!!!

Christmas 2010

Christmas has come and gone. It's hard to believe it! But I must say I was very happy to get all of the Christmas decorations put back up in the attic. And I was SUPER excited when school started last Wednesday:)

We had a fun Christmas with Wyatt and Reid. It's so fun to see Christmas through the eyes of a child. The first few days that the tree was up, Reid would NOT leave it alone. But thankfully, once the newness wore off he was fine.

Reid came with me to Wyatt's class Christmas party. I was a little apprehensive about taking him, but he had a blast. And Wyatt's classmates loved him.

We did LOTS of laying around with not much planned. It was nice, but I get cabin fever pretty quickly.

Santa came and brought lots of good stuff. One of the hits of Christmas was the Sing a Ma Jigs. Reid especially likes his.

Talking Up a Storm

Reid has suddenly started talking A LOT! He says just about every word we say. It's crazy! He says, "PEASE" for something he wants. And he usually remembers to say "TANKS" after he gets it. On the way to church each Sunday, we pass by a car dealership that has an inflatable LSU Tiger. Every Sunday, when we get off of the Interstate to go to church, he says "tiger". Today, I said, "What does the tiger say?" He growled. Then I said, "What do we say for our LSU Tigers?" He screamed, "Geaux Tigers!" I just about fell out of my seat! He does stuff like that for me all of the time, but he has NEVER done it in front of Lance. We cracked up! Last night our friends came over to watch the Saints Playoff Game. They just had a baby on December 1. He was asleep in his carrier, and all wrapped up in a blanket. Reid was fascinated by him. He went over to him and patted him and said "Baby Jesus". We laughed so hard! He has been so cute this past week! He has been really fun and easy to deal with. November through half of December he was not so pleasant. Poor baby was sick, so he was not a happy camper. But now he is back to his happy self. And all of this talking makes him sooooo fun!

He is also fascinated by heavy equipment right now. I think I am going to have a birthday party for him with that theme. He says, "Dozer" and "Excavator". The way he says both of them is so funny. He also says "Tractor" and "Dumptruck".

He recently started saying "Wyatt". It's so cute. Before that he said "Bubbie". Now he says "Wyatt" very plainly.

He continues to love to eat. He kind of lost his appetite after he was sick with strep at Thanksgiving, but it has come back in full force. He says "Bite" anytime we have food. He also says "Food" and "Snack". His favorite drinks are "Apple Juice" and "Frappe" (coffee). He is very demanding in the morning if the coffee isn't ready when he wakes up. (Yes, he drinks coffee milk every morning thanks to my dad!!!)

He is SUPER attached to his "Lovies". It's really a bad thing, but I am no where ready to break that habit yet. Sometimes he says, "I LOVIE HIM" when he talks about his lovie. He cracks me up!

He will be 22 months on the 23rd of this month. Where has the time flown by? He is so fun right now. I pray the terrible two's aren't TOO terrible!!!!

Family Pics

Our friend took some pictures of us for our Christmas card. We went to a subdivision nearby that has a very old church that was kept when the subdivision was developed. The pictures came out great. I used one for my card, but there were some others that were great as well. And some funny ones too!!!

The one of Reid running away cracks me up! I came close to using that one as my Christmas card:)
Reid was throwing rocks at the photographer! He was tired of having his picture made. Who knew he had strep throat? He was running around like a wild child, and then that evening.....sick!

Lance and me

Probably one of my favorite pictures of Wyatt and Reid of all time!
